Jet Ski Tours Queenstown offers the unique chance to explore a different perspective of Queenstown’s natural beauty. Feel the wind on your face and the adrenaline pumping through your veins as you explore the stunning hidden bays of Lake Wakatipu. You’ll start your trip by cruising out of Queenstown’s bay. After passing the 5-knot zone marker, you’ll pick up speed and head towards Hidden Island. Once there, you’ll spend about 15 minutes driving around freely and getting used to your jet ski. On the final part of the trip, you’ll get a tour of the lake with your guide.
Each double jet ski can fit up to one driver and passenger – so you can share this unmissable experience with family or a group of friends at a great value. Trips are available for groups of 5-10 people and can be tailored to suit jet ski drivers of all abilities. You don’t need experience or a license to enjoy this adventurous Queenstown activity. Even if you have never ridden on a jet ski before and are a little nervous, you can feel safe and comfortable knowing that you will have expert guides to provide all the guidance you need. It’s important that you dress appropriately for the weather. A waterproof jacket or windbreaker is always recommended, but Jet Ski Tours also provides lightweight jackets if necessary. You might also want to bring a pair of sunglasses and a warm upper layer, as well as clothes and footwear that you won’t mind getting wet. In the cooler months, it’s advised you bring a change of clothes as you’ll likely end up cold and damp after your ride.
Jet skiing in Queenstown can sometimes be affected by high winds and stormy conditions on the lake. 2 hours before your departure, make sure you check the weather conditions by giving Jet Ski Tours a call.
There are a few restrictions when riding with Jet Ski Tours. The minimum age to drive a jet ski is 18 years old. Children can ride as passengers if they are 8 years or older. However, if the conditions are particularly rough, Jet Ski Tours can choose to raise the age limit further. If you have children under 8 years old, you’ll need to speak with the team at Jet Ski Tours first.

Jet Ski Tours is the only guided jet ski tour company departing from central Queenstown. All trips depart from the Hydro Attack wharf on the Queenstown Lakefront. Customers check in at the booking kiosk in front of Patagonia Chocolates, next to Earnslaw Park. You should allow up to 2 hours for the whole duration, including check-in time and instruction. Due to the limited spaces available, early bookings are highly recommended.
